In this exhibition, we explore Jojk, and have a look at a personal odyssey in Sápmi, in present-day Norway.
Jojk is the indigenous vocal practice of the Sámi people of Northern Europe. It has been the song of the land and all its elements, and has become a voice to speak up for the silenced.
Through Jojk, by singing something instead of singing about it, embodying it, and feeling its essence, we remember that all of nature is one, and that humans are an inseparable part of it. This Indigenous worldview reminds us of what we need to heal the world.
